A New Project
A new project has been started by
myself and
Dr. Anil Aggrawal
to provide the ultimate illustrated and annotated Sherlock
Holmes Canon in electronic format.
The Memoirs were done by December 4, 2000.
I'm hoping to finish all of them soon (early 2004), but work
and life have been quite busy.
The specifics are these:
- All 60 stories will be converted to Adobe PDF (Portable Document
Format).
- Annotations (in the form of footnotes) will be included
where appropriate, including maps and explainations.
- All original Sidney Paget illustrations will be embedded into
the documents where applicable.
- A table of contents PDF file will have links into the 60 individual
story files, and will include a cover page introducing the works.
- A publisher's introduction will be included to describe the work
done compiling and annotating the stories.
- This entire collection will be free of cost and available to
anyone.
This project was an idea of mine a year ago when I got sick of
reading ASCII-text versions of the stories, and pined for the days
when electronic text presentation would be on par with the printed
page. With Adobe's Acrobat reader and PDF format, the day has come
to start the conversion process to create the ultimate electronic
publication of the Holmes Canon.

the small Adobe Acrobat symbol for the download link.
