I finally put together a page describing the process of buying my new car and picking it up in Germany. []

This whole anti-gun hysteria is making me sad as an American right now. People forget about freedom so quickly when politicians make empty promises about safety and security. The intent of the 2nd Amendment is to secure the right of the people to be able to defend themselves from threats (whether that is a tyrannical government or whatever is left as an exercise for the reader). Think about the historical context - we just kicked out the King using "arms" that we had for securing the Free state. A second and completely unrelated argument against these gun control measures is simply that passing more laws only affects the law-abiding. 80 million gun owners are being punished for the acts of a few evil people. Instead of solving the problem by allowing more freedoms (or even addressing the real problem of mental health issues), the government always wants to solve problems by restricting freedoms. This does not sit well with me, nor should it you if you care about this country.
